2021 was an important year for PlanSource, our partners, our customers and our team members. From internal expansion to new products and partnerships, we are so excited to recap some of our favorite moments from this past year as we look forward to more growth and success in 2022.

Welcoming New CEO Tom Signorello

In August, Tom Signorello joined PlanSource’s seasoned executive team to lead the company through its next phase of growth as previous CEO Dayne Williams stepped into the role of Executive Chairman. Tom has 23 years of experience leading thriving enterprise software companies while advancing their market leadership position through strategic initiatives. His proven ability to create successful partner alliance ecosystems, mergers and acquisitions is essential to achieving our strategic vision in 2022 and years to come.

Automating Dependent Verification with DependentIQ

We harnessed A.I. and machine learning technology this year to launch our IQ Suite of products starting with DependentIQ. We recognized that companies need more tools to help them combat rising healthcare prices, and ineligible dependents cost businesses millions of dollars in annual health plan expenses. However, auditing processes are tedious and many HR teams don’t have the time to make sure all dependents are really eligible.

DependentIQ automates the dependent eligibility verification process to save HR both time and money. In fact, you can save up to $3500 per ineligible dependent annually while also saving 70% of total manual HR admin time. Check out our product sheet to learn more or try out our saving calculator to see how much you could save.

Empowering Smarter Benefit Decisions with DecisionIQ

HR teams also need additional assistance in employee decision support. They don’t have the time to answer every employee benefit question or walk everyone through the enrollment process. However, to boost employee participation and satisfaction, they often require some form of decision aid. Knowing this, PlanSource launched DecisionIQ as our second product in our IQ Suite.

DecisionIQ leverages data and innovative technology from the PlanSource benefits platform and global healthcare consulting firm, Milliman, to help organizations empower smarter, more confident benefits decisions for their employees. The analytics dashboard highlights key decision support tool engagement and success metrics for HR Admins, like what percentage of employees actually enrolled in the plan that was suggested to them. This way, employees get the support they need, and HR teams can keep track of the results without the extra admin burden. Check out our product sheet to learn more.

Simplifying Data Visualization with InsightsIQ

Our third tool released in our IQ Suite this year solves for difficult reporting and analytics. As important as your data is, there are a lot of challenges with traditional benefits reporting. Organizing, visualizing and analyzing benefits data into useful information can be time-consuming and confusing. InsightsIQ automates and pre-visualizes data pulled directly from benefit reports and neatly organizes it in dynamic dashboard options. This tool allows for historical trending, peer comparisons and other previously difficult metrics to measure. Watch our on-demand webinar to see a demo of InsightsIQ in action.

Continuing to Grow with PlanSource Boost

2021 also brought continued growth to our Boost Carrier Partners as we continued to invest in API technology. We offer 5 modern integrations with our partners including plan configuration, enrollment, evidence of insurability, member portal and provider directory. This year, Guardian became our first carrier partner to be fully integrated with all 5 of these and we hope to add more partners to this list in 2022. Additionally, we announced 3 new partners to our Boost experience: Ameritas, New York Life and Reliance Matrix. We look forward to continuing to invest in API and modern integration technology and grow our partnerships as we enter the new year.

Making Benefits More Accessible with Our Partner Marketplace

We also unveiled our Partner Marketplace with expanded benefit options for employers this year. In response to 98% of employers considering new non-traditional benefit offerings, we want to best support HR and benefit professionals in providing these necessary options to their employees. Marketplace connects innovative benefit providers with employers for ease of use to simplify the selection and delivery of these add-on benefits. Customers can easily connect with PlanSource’s curated list of benefit providers and collaborate with their trusted broker advisor to create and deliver the best benefits package for their employees.

PlanSource Partner Marketplace was designed to provide quick implementation, templated file delivery and an optimized shopping experience to maximize HR efficiency, employee engagement and plan participation. This curated list of strategic partners includes Accolade, Allstate Identity Protection, Boon Health, Genomic Life, Givinga, ID Watchdog, Maven Clinic, MetLife Legal and NortonLifeLock. We look forward to partnering with more innovative benefit providers in 2022.

Investing in Our Team Members

Following the addition of our Bengaluru, India office in 2020, PlanSource has continued to grow internally as well. As we continued to expand our team, we focused on investing in early talent. This year we hired 25 interns and 97 High Potential Entry Level team members for a growing total of 767 team members globally.

With multiple offices and continuing to navigate Covid-19 in 2021, PlanSource remained dedicated to cultivating a diverse and inclusive workspace. In doing so, we added a new Employee Resource Group (ERG) this year to support our diverse employee populations and identities. Our ERGs include People of Color, Women, Pride, Differently Abled and now Military. We believe the best ideas come from bringing people with various views, backgrounds and experiences to the table, and we will continue to invest in our team members in 2022.

Partnering with Sage

This past summer we announced a new partnership and integration with Sage, the market leader in cloud business management solutions, following their launch of Sage People U.S. Benefits. This new offering from Sage enables mid-size organizations to better manage their wellbeing program by automating their end-to-end benefits administration – from annual enrollment and monthly billing to seamless integration with benefits carriers, payroll and other third parties.

PlanSource brings to Sage People robust, cloud-based benefits technology that’s already trusted by more than 5,000 customers so that Sage People can enable organizations to better manage their wellbeing program through automation. Learn more about Sage People and this new offering here.

Delivering Unparalleled Customer Service

We believe that one of the most important things we do at PlanSource is provide an Employee Contact Center to educate your employees and help them get enrolled in the right benefits. In 2020, between remote work and increased employee concern with benefits we saw an unprecedented volume of call center requests. As a response, we have focused on expanding our contact center to provide best-in-class service.

Despite increased volume of calls in Q4, our support team was able to answer 100% of their calls within 30 seconds nearly every day. Even on our largest volume call day in 2021, our team answered 10,000 calls in under 30 seconds with only 1% of callers hanging up before we could answer. PlanSource is and will remain committed to providing you and your employees with the best service possible in 2022.

Driving Success with Useful Resources

We rolled out new and useful content for HR and benefit professionals this year including blog posts, webinars, demo videos, guides and more. PlanSource is committed to creating wildly successful customers which means providing resources that contribute real value. Our most-read blog posts this year include 6 Key Metrics for Measuring Open Enrollment Success, 7 Great Examples of Effective Text Message Campaigns for Employees and ACA Reporting Requirements. Additionally, our most attended webinar for 2021 was 7 Examples of How Great Benefits Software Can Automate Complex Benefit Programs where we shared examples of customers with unique, complex business rules and how we simplified things with complex configurations within the system.

Most recently, we released our Complete Buyer’s Guide to Benefits Software Part I to help HR professionals navigate all the different software and provider options out there, starting with critical software features. As we move into 2022 keep an eye out for our Complete Buyer’s Guide Part II and other valuable resources we will be sharing year-round.
