Recently on the Weekly Source, we interviewed Heather Garbers, SVP Voluntary Benefits at HUB International and Co-founder and Trevor Garbers, SVP, Practice Leader – Voluntary Benefits at HUB International and Co-founder at Voluntary Advantage.

Voluntary Advantage began as a passion project for Heather and Trevor to give back to the industry. Heather explains, that in the past “there was no central place to get information or collaboration on voluntary benefits…We have experts from all across the industry contributing their knowledge.”

Their offerings connect everything from product development all the way through the life cycle of the employees. “We wanted to provide this to others across the board to bring tools and data-driven initiatives that did not exist in the industry before,” says Trevor.

Heather breaks down how Voluntary Benefits is the first of its kind – “Our goal with the publications is that they are specific to voluntary benefits…we are data and solution-based and don’t want to push products on the users – But actually share thought leadership knowledge and statistics that anyone on the distribution side can apply back to their business, do their job better, and make thing better for the client and for the end policy holder.”
