On The Source, our host Neil Mammele caught up with Chris Henrichs, Co-Founder and Head of Partnerships at BoonHealth. This company began in 2019 as they evaluated different approachable and accessible ways employees can be supported by their employers. BoonHealth is a coaching platform that partners with employers to provide one on one coaching for their employees.
Employees receive 2 sponsored sessions per month and they are matched with coaches based off of the results of their welcome survey. Chris discloses that “50% of employees that come through Boon’s platform have never used coaching or therapy before.” BoonHealth chose coaching as a modality of choice because they have seen “30% utilization when a company signs up…it’s a great first step on supporting their own personal and professional growth and wellbeing.”
May is Mental Health Month and the past two years have been hard. BoonHealth’s goal is to support people who might not have accessible traditional resources, so their workplace can now take care of them. One of the reasons they decided to create Boon was they felt that “the employee assistance program wasn’t fitting the need of what the everyday employee was facing…EAPs are only get 1-3% utilization.”
Boon has tracked ROI and resilience. “We’ve seen that employees who work with a Boon coach, just once, are 50% less likely to turn over…after 5 coaching sessions we’ve measured that 85% of employees who met with a Boon coach have improved their resilience during that time.”
