Today, Regal is a subsidiary of Cineworld Group, a UK based theater chain and the world’s second-largest cinema group. Regal Cinemas consists of 7,300+ movie screens, 550+ theaters and operations in 43 states.
Regal Cinemas operates the second-largest movie theater chain in the United States. The company has 8 business units over 500 locations with 7,300+ movie screens and 24,000+ employees. As a company founded in the 1980’s, there were still a number of manual Human Resources processes lacking efficiencies. With multiple business units in place, along with various employee types—part-time, full-time field and corporate, and tipped employees (servers, bartenders, waitstaff)— Regal faced complex issues when transferring data between units and tracking benefits information.
The delivery model for providing employees their benefits enrollment information relied on mailed postal kits and paper enrollment, adding to the time and effort required by the HR department. The cinema cooperation needed a system that could integrate with their payroll solution from Ultimate Software, UltiPro, and reduce paper inefficiencies within their human resource tasks.
