Hey there! It’s The Man With The Plan again and I’m here to help you make the most of your PlanSource Eclipse conference experience. Whether you are coming to hear our amazing lineup of speakers or the ocean views, I’ve got several tips to keep you on track.
Set Conference Goals
What are you hoping to get out of Eclipse? Meeting other industry professionals? Schmoozing with a specific carrier or broker? Learning the latest and greatest PlanSource features and functionality? Getting a selfie with yours truly? Remember why you are at the conference and make sure you have clear goals in mind. This will ensure the ROI of your conference investment is justified.
Here are a few goals to get you started:
- Bring back concrete new ways to improve and update your benefits and HR strategy
- Earn SHRM & HRCI credits
- Meet new industry professionals and potential partners
- Become even more of a PlanSource expert
- Enjoy the time away from work!
Hellooooo, California! This year’s PlanSource Eclipse takes place at The Ritz-Carlton in beautiful Half Moon Bay. You’ll be conferencing in style at this gorgeous venue, with oceanfront views and luxurious accommodations. Be sure to pack accordingly! The event will include evening events, lots of engaging sessions, and rise and shine activities outside, so you’ll need a variety of wardrobe options. Average temperatures towards the end of summer range from highs in the upper 60’s and lows in the 50’s, so don’t forget your jacket!
Other things to include:
- Chargers (computer, phone, etc.) – no one wants to be ‘that guy’ bumming electronics.
- Comfortable shoes! Never underestimate the value of comfy shoes.
- Professional attire for networking; comfortable attire for sessions.
- Business cards – these are easy to forget!
- An open and eager mind – you’ll learn tons and meet lots of new people.
Have A Game Plan
The conference will be here before you know it! Have you created a schedule for the event? Be sure to check out the conference agenda in advance and pre-register for your favorite sessions via the Eclipse mobile app. And, if you’re traveling with a co-worker, take a ‘divide and conquer’ approach to maximize your efforts.
PS – If you haven’t already, download the Eclipse Conference mobile app!
We know, we know – work is important and things pop up. However, your company invested for you to be at the conference, so make every effort to be truly present during conference events. You only have three days to absorb lots of sessions and making valuable connections. Speaking of which…
Make New Friends
Don’t be shy! We’ve planned several extra fun events to help you meet and mingle with other industry professionals – so take advantage! Making valuable connections is often one of the biggest benefits of attending conferences. Here are a few of the social events we have in for 2018:
- Welcome Reception – Monday 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
- Coastal Walk – Tuesday and Wednesday 6:30 a.m. – 7:30 a.m.
- Eclipse Bash – Monday 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
If socializing in person isn’t quite your cup of tea – no worries. We’ll also be sharing conference tips and connecting with attendees via social media, so feel free to join the conversation! And who knows, we might also have a few social media contests during the event…
Be sure to use the hashtag #PSEclipse to keep up with current conversations and join in on the fun!
