An article written by PlanSource’s own Nancy Sansom appeared in Employee Benefit News on a subject that is near and dear to my heart. As a lifelong marketer of human resources software, it irritates me when lofty promises are made that make a direct relationship between two somewhat related data points. To me, that’s software and engagement.
Engagement is one of the most overused and misunderstood buzzwords of the last decade.
Engagement happens when all of the things a company provides line up with what employees want. If it makes sense for technology to help with engagement initiatives, then use it. If not, find something else that works. But technology in and of itself is not the be-all and end-all solution to maximizing the productivity of employees and minimizing involuntary churn.
